I am writing this review as a friend and public witness to what happened to a filmmaker and concert producer who trusted Budget Camera for a time-sensitive live event. Many of us were present before and during the concert that was supposed to take place at 12:30 PM. The production was fully prepared in advance, and we all knew that the essential equipment was supposed to be picked up from this company at 10:00 AM that same morning. We later found out that after taking full payment and a large security deposit (nearly $3,000), the company cancelled the rental at the last minute and did not refund the money immediately. Because of this: • The production team had no equipment • There was no time and no money to rent from another company • The concert production was severely damaged • The organizer’s reputation was publicly harmed • The emotional stress was visible and extreme Many people witnessed the confusion, delay, and disappointment that followed. A live event that took weeks of planning was partially ruined in a matter of hours because of this situation. From what I personally saw, this was not just a business issue — it was public professional damage caused by last-minute cancellation after full payment and a failure to provide immediate financial resolution. I strongly warn all event organizers, churches, filmmakers, and production teams: Do not rely on this company for live, time-critical projects.
⭐ 1-Star Review – I Witnessed This Company Take Full Payment and Cancel Before a Live Concert I personally accompanied my friend to Budget Camera on Friday to finalize a rental for his live concert scheduled for Saturday at 12:30 PM. I witnessed him being told that everything was approved and then being required to pay the full rental fee plus a large security deposit (nearly $3,000 total). After taking his full payment, staff told him the process was complete and instructed him to return the next morning at 10:00 AM to pick up the equipment. We both trusted their instructions and he prepared his entire production based on that promise. On Saturday at 10:00 AM, I returned with him to pick up the equipment — only about 2.5 hours before his live concert — and at that moment the company suddenly cancelled his rental. The reason given had to do with another person who was not present, no longer lived with him, and had no legal or financial connection to him. Despite my friend doing nothing wrong and paying in full, he was punished for someone else’s issue. No proper solution was offered. What shocked me even more was that his money was not refunded immediately, which meant he did not even have the ability to rent equipment from another company to try to save his concert. I witnessed firsthand: • The full payment being taken • The delayed pickup instruction • The last-minute cancellation • The lack of immediate refund • The extreme stress and financial harm this caused As a witness, I can confidently say this was deeply unprofessional and harmful business conduct. I strongly warn anyone with time-sensitive projects to think very carefully before trusting this company.

When I returned the next morning as instructed — just 2.5 hours before my live concert — they suddenly cancelled my rental, claiming an issue related to another person who is not me, has no legal connection to me, and no longer lives with me. I was punished financially and professionally for someone else’s actions. To make matters worse, my money was NOT refunded on time, which meant I did not even have the funds to rent replacement gear from another company. I was left with no equipment, no refund, and no realistic way to save my event under extreme pressure. This caused: • Serious financial harm • Extreme emotional distress • Damage to my professional reputation • Risk to my concert, clients, and crew. Taking full payment, delaying pickup, then cancelling hours before a live event and holding the customer’s money is completely unacceptable and dangerous business practice. Filmmakers, videographers, and event producers — do NOT trust this company for time-sensitive jobs. What happened to me can easily happen to you.
Great experience, got the lens a day earlier than expected which was great for prep. Also, returning the lens was super easy with the pre-paid label right in the box.
Very attentive and quick to respond. We had a minor technical issue with one lens on the shooting day, and they were very prompt to help us and fix/clean the lens for us.
