I've been going to this store for probably 5 or so years now and I absolutely adore it. The people are nice and friendly with a passion for where they work. They're always willing to help and offer great deals, memberships, etc. that are friendly for collectors and readers alike. My only gripe is that the back issues are unorganized and tend to be buried under boxes or various other materials. Sometimes it makes it worrisome as to whether or not you can move them around to get to the section you're looking for. This wasn't the case before and it's definitely become more prominent. However, it's understandable as it may be a result of the lack of space the store actually has to hold so much inventory. Nonetheless, great store, great people and it offers plenty.
Earlier this year I had to change comic shops as my previous one was closing down. This was the next best one close to my route home. Having been with several shops in the last decade (and working for one), and having to switch for various reasons (shutting down, location change) - I know what I'm looking for in a comic shop. Cyber City Comix has been around for 30 years now and for good reason. Sure, their location is a bit small and cramped because their stock has outgrown their location, they may not have as much back stock as I like, but they do have what counts, great customer service, charm, and the willingness to help out if they can. I always feel welcome whenever I walk in to pick up my pull-list. I could chat forever with whoever is in the store at the time. If I am looking for something or want something ordered they are always willing to help. I only wish they didn't use pot lights to light the store :P but that's a me problem. If you're looking for a great comic shop, looking to start a pull list or starting out on your comic journey come check out this store. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help.
"Booked Get Movers North York for a move from Bayview Village to Willowdale — flawlessly! Movers were polite, efficient, and even helped me label all my boxes. Totally stress‑free."
Very disappointed. Showed up in the middle of the day and the store was locked, started walking down the stairs to leave and they open the door and just to call out "we're open" in a tone suggesting it was my mistake the door was locked. Went in to both browse and to look for something specific and could not get any actual help as the only apparent worker was on the phone the whole time. Not only did i not find what i was looking for, it felt like i was in a private club i didnt belong in. I hope this is an isolated experience but i wont know cause im not going back.
The staff are amazing. they are all friendly and approachable. They also know what they are talking about. If you're in the area and need to scratch that comics itch, this is the place to go!
