Had a consultation with Gene about a family law matter. Although it was very expensive I felt I got the peace of mind I was looking for and it was a very detailed consultation. Gene didn’t tell me what I wanted to hear, he told me how it is and calls a spade a spade and I truly appreciate that. A year and a half later I wanted him to take on a motion to change and what I didn’t find good was that he wanted another $3000 to review documents and at the end would tell me if I have material change or not meaning I could spend that money and he might not would have taken me on. I have no option other than to proceed at this point so I decided against it. I was hoping for him to take me on as a client and as every client wants to hear would be a “here’s the game plan, here’s what we are going to do and why and what I need”, unfortunately I didn’t get that so I didn’t see it making sense to spend another $3000 with a chance of him just walking away at a time I really needed him.
