The prices were good and reasonable! They had just what I was looking for and they gave us a slice of apple cake for free. Definitely coming back for all my favourites

lots of variety for mexican snacks!!! the place is smaller than i thought, but still lots of goodies. i saw a previous review saying they lack pricing, which is true, but everything is not crazy priced. just ask the workers. we also got free popsicles to try and they were very yummy!!! will be coming back

Terrible service. The girl at the counter seemed to be in a bad mood, as if she didn’t want to work. When I ordered an esquite, she even made a face, as if annoyed by my order. When I got home, I realized it was made with yellow corn instead of white corn, which is what I usually get. They should be clear about what they’re selling and specify that it’s yellow corn and not white. On top of that, it was way too spicy because it had too much chile de árbol mixed in. Overall, a very disappointing experience I won’t be buying esquites here again.

This is by far the best store in North York to get authentic Mexican groceries. Ricardo brings fresh items all the way from Mexico for his store. Highly recommended.

I appreciate that the store is clean—that’s definitely a plus. I first visited to use their money transfer service, and today I returned to purchase two items. However, the prices were not displayed until I reached the cashier, which was frustrating. What’s most concerning is their payment policy. The store adds a 13% surcharge on debit and credit card transactions, but not on cash payments. In Canada, the maximum allowable surcharge for credit card payments is 2.4%, and surcharges are not permitted on debit. Charging 13% is unreasonable and appears to go against regulations. This practice also raises questions about tax reporting. Since the fee only applies to card payments, it suggests that cash transactions may not be properly reported. While I can’t say for certain, the setup gives the impression that the business might be avoiding HST on cash sales. Overall, while the store looks neat and tidy, these questionable practices left me with a very negative impression.

Went in today to buy specific ingredients for a Mexican dish and found many items not priced. Upon cashing out, the female associate had to ask her adolescent superior for price confirmation which then was heavily marked-up. I removed a ton of items as a result of this. When I was ready to pay for the 2 things I knew I could not purchase at general grocers, I was hit with a 13% surcharge because I wanted to pay with via credit card. I walked away with nothing but disbelief! I will give them an additional star only because the selection of the merchandise is good, but don’t play with me in this economy!

My boyfriend bought me LOTs of spicey candies from here. They're very good. He mentioned that there was a boy there who helped him and was very helpful. We went in today and as soon as i walked in there were pinatas hanging. I really loved this look! They had free corn today. My nieces loved it. We bought 2 strawberry snowcones. OMG. They were made of strawberry puree i believe as the flavour was so good!!! We bought 2 apple sodas and some freezies. I havent had these yet but im sure they're delicious!! The staff today were very friendly and answered all my questions. I felt very comfortable talking to them in spanish (not the best) and they were great speaking in English to my boyfriend. My only suggestion to this store is to post a menu. You definitely have to go here if you want spicey candy, mexican street corn, snowcones, etc.
