My experience with him has been not only deeply disappointing but has left my case—one of great personal and legal significance—in a seriously compromised position. Mr. Goldfinger initially took on my case, only to extract a secondary claim from it for his own apparent benefit. After attending a single mediation, he took $101,000 from a $275,000 award, a staggering amount for minimal work. What followed was a series of actions that appeared to be designed to abandon me at the most critical stage of litigation. Despite the gravity of my legal situation, and knowing full well that I am a disabled veteran with limited ability to self-represent, Mr. Goldfinger refused to draft a factum in response to opposing counsel’s summary judgment motion—a vital component of my defense. Shortly thereafter, he informed me he was withdrawing from my case, leaving me vulnerable and unrepresented when my rights were most at risk. What’s worse, in the week leading up to his withdrawal, he engaged in a pattern of behavior that I believe was intended to provoke a mental health crisis, seemingly to manufacture a justification for terminating the solicitor-client relationship and absolve himself of further responsibility. In my view, Mr. Goldfinger prioritizes cases that require minimal effort for maximum financial return. If your matter is complex or demands sustained legal work, you may find—as I did—that he is unwilling to fight for your rights. I strongly urge others to seek alternate legal counsel, regardless of what promises or assurances he may offer.
