I wish they were in BC. They were able to copy my skate blade profile from my old blades. I took my old old steel to a few places, and they couldnt even make a decent guess or give me the time of day. Finally ChatGPT steered me towards skatescribe. I sent them my old steel and they told me exactly what the radius's and leans were, and copied the profile to new steel. And even better its stored in their system. So i can always send my steel back for re-profiling and i can get it exactly the same. It was great service from start to finish. I am hoping they open a place in BC.
The best skate sharpening experience I’ve ever had. Sandy scanned my blades and took the time to explain to me what was wrong with my blades before giving me a new profile and sharpening. It took me a few skates to get used to the new profile, but I love them now. Would definitely come back and recommend everybody to give them a try.
We took my daughter’s skates in on a Friday afternoon. We drove almost a hour but had plenty of time between games; She was playing in the Ajax Pickering Fall Classic. The staff were great and very informative. They advised me of the minor issues with her blades, profiled and sharpened her skates within 20-30 minutes at an extremely affordable price. She was super happy with the result, feeling the difference and it took no time to get used to at all. I would highly recommend this place. Thank you so much. I even called them to thank them the next day.
David at ScotiaBank Pond was an incredible resource to my husband and I. He spent time explaining the technology behind SkateScribe and helped us pick the right profiling for our son’s skates. He was so spot on, that in the first period on the blades David sharpened, he scored two goals! We are back now getting his back up pair done before we leave the rink back to New Jersey! You’ve got to have them do you skates!!!
Usually deal with Sandy....and my sharpenings are precise and excellent, time after time. He also answers all my questions about the process, which is a very nice added bonus. I don't plan on veering from this service, as the Skatescribe machine gives me long life to my blades, due to it's efficiency in giving the exact same specs at every sharpening.
This place is the best sharpening i've ever had, I travel 30 minutes out of my way just to get my sharpenings here. Its $20 for a profile/sharpening and the technician shows you a notebook with pictures and explains which are popular and what you type of skating performance you should expect. Once I hit the ice, It was like I never had sharp blades in my life and I was able to turn and accelerate more quickly than normal
Huge difference! Turns out my blades were pretty uneven and messed up(profile, pitch) after years of manual sharpening. The guys at Skatescribe fixed them up and the difference I felt when I first went back on the ice was huge. I could feel all my edges really easily and felt much more comfortable staying low and on my toes.
