tl;dr - Come here to sing! Youtube integrated karaoke system. Good for Disney, Showtunes, and Anime. 10+ years later and we are still coming here - why? because it's the OG karaoke spot and because they are the only place (to my knowledge) that has the Youtube system for songs (and for people who sing Disney and Showtunes this matters). We have been coming here for years and we still come here because it is cozy and familiar. We have never had a problem with service here - we walked in on a Friday at 830PM, left ID, got a room for 4 people and sang for 3 hours. With an additional water for each of us it cost us $29 per person. $10 an hour on a Friday Night I think is pretty good. A lot of these newer places prefer you to book in advance, no walk in, or you get a giant room with drinks, it just seems so complicated. Twister is no fuss no muss - very simple and the place you go if you want to sing. No flashy neon bright lights, just some fans and spinning light balls. We do not eat here since it's mostly snacks. There are drinks but we did not order anything, just water. Atmosphere is a low rating because it hasn't upgraded or changed since we started coming and feels like someone's basement but that is fine! it's part of the charm. Will continue to come back~
A mediocre karaoke place that gets the job done at an ok price. The rooms were decently sized and a screen could connect to youtube which is nice. Unfortunately kept on having technical difficulties with playing songs taking a while to load or not load at all
IYKYK : Twister is OG. There's a ton of places you can go to drink, but this is where you come to SING. . . . And drink. I've been coming here for over a decade now, so listen up young folks, this is THE PLACE, if you take karaoke seriously. 1) Proper integration with Youtube (not just a tablet), let's you properly queue and search up songs. No searching through binders, no limited playlists that never get updated. No janky setups. It works, it's great, love it. 2) You know else is great? No sloppy drunks singing poorly here. It's a bunch of singers getting sloppy drunk here. There's a difference. Life lesson for you. 3) Friendly Family Staff - Yo, what's up Jay? Listen this here is a family run establishment. They're good people. Listen to their rules, don't trash the place, be respectful. Buying Canadian also means being polite Canadians. TL;DR - If you wanna sing, and you care about singing, this is the place to be.
TRIED TO STEAL MY FRIENDS PHONE! I do not recommend this place at all, my friend left his phone in one of the rooms. We came back 15 mins later to get it back and found it without the SIM card. We had to go back in and demand the SIM card. They said they didn’t touch it but when we threatened to call the police they remembered they had it in one of their drawers. Unacceptable. The place is over priced for the run down place that it is, overpriced food and the sound system they had was just garbage, constant distortion and blown speakers. I am an AV tech and still couldn’t fix the audio issues. Real scummy place and would not recommend. There is better options out there. Don’t waste your time
Rude owners, moldy walls, nothing but complaints. Kicked us out of our room in the middle of our singing just to switch us to another room of practically the same size. Owner kept going in our room to see if we were able to use the machine, even though we said we already knew how. Honestly, terrible experience.
Karaoke systems okay, easy to use and queue songs. Would prefer additional microphones (only get two) for larger rooms. Toilets were not operational when we were there which was rather unfortunate, had to go to restaurant next door. Karaoke 4/5 Service 3/5
Really disappointed with my experience with Twister. We were told we would have the room without a time limit when we first entered. Approaching the 1 hr 50 minute mark, we were then told to leave because they had a 2 hour limit on busy nights. I would much rather go to Shout and dolphin on the same street.
