Donald Lloyd Patrick is an absolute gem in North York. I was quoted $20.00 to $30.00 by a mall repair shop to replace a lost pin on my Fossil watch band. I’m glad I got a second opinion. Mr. Patrick quickly and professionally repaired it as I waited, and charged me $10.00, including HST. While he sanded and hammered the pin into place, I noticed the numerous certificates hanging on his walls, going back to 1981. Forty-four years of experience would be impressive enough, but he clarified that he actually has 62 years of experience, starting at age fourteen. He has been serving Canadians since 1973. I highly recommend giving him your business.
Fascinating sales technique with this guy. I phoned him Wednesday at 11:36am and got a voicemail asking me to leave a detailed message, and he would call back ASAP. No problem. Never heard, so on Thursday morning I phoned at 9:15am and said I had left a message Wednesday and even if there was no interest in repairing my pocket-watch, would he let me know. At 11:55am Thursday I got a call and first question was "Did you call me this morning?" I said, "yes, and the day before also." Next words - "I don't come to work until 11:30, you know." This is clearly no comment on the skills of this person, and in fact I have to assume he is very proficient - and/or, there are very few people repairing watches these days. I appreciate skill, but don't fancy paying rude people who have no clue. BTW - it does say hours are 1130-630 on his Google listing, but I don't think that means he doesn't listen to voicemails left outside those parameters.
Mr Donald is the best. He replaced the batteries of three watches I’d bought in Europe on spot. We had a nice chat and he is very knowledgeable. Best experience ever!
