Tomato bisque - sooo rich and saucy. Go small with this, you will feel full fast! Garlic sauce - nice and tasty but soup i like more.
Big Mao is an absolute gem! I had an amazing experience here — the food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch. Every dish was full of authentic flavour, perfectly seasoned, and came out fresh and piping hot. You can really tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. The staff were warm, attentive, and quick to help with recommendations. Portions were generous, prices were reasonable, and the overall vibe made the meal even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for delicious food and a consistently great dining experience, Big Mao is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend!
Lots of different malatang places opening up in North York and this place might be one of the best. Was attracted to how bright this place was! Unfortunately, did not enjoy the tomato bisque soup base, overwhelmingly salty. Apparently the other soup bases are better. Might be back to give them another try.
Big Mao Hot Pot is hands down the most delicious hot pot I’ve ever had in Toronto. The variety of dishes is incredible, and everything is fresh. The service is also exceptionally warm and welcoming. I even finished every drop of the soup—it was that good!
This is my go to spot for malatang! It’s $3.99/100g and the soup base and rice is free. There’s a lot of ingredients to choose from that are always fresh. Service is always friendly and welcoming.
