I dont trust just anybody with my hair, but was recommended to Nannis hair Salon. Went in for a wash, retwist/ styling and they did an amazing job. Excellent customer service. I came out looking brand new. Will definitely be back!
My Wife’s favourite and go to spot for braids and twists. They do an excellent job with their hair care and treatment too. Wife’s hair has been growing like a weed since going here.
Decent location and a very warm owner. I enjoyed their service and the lovely discussion I had whilst I was getting my hair done. I only hope I can get a discount next time as the cost was quite high.
This place is highly unhygienic and unprofessional. My husband contracted fungus in his head after getting his hair done. The worker was using her nails to part his hair which was bizarre she was also doing another person's hair simultaneously without washing her hands. Other workers were eating while doing clients hair without even washing their hands also. The condition of the place is deplorable, the bathroom seems as it has not been cleaned in months evidenced by the build of dirt. It's a breeding ground for cross-contamination and germs. You pay your money for a service only to have your health compromised. Hazard to public health. Never again !!!
I really wanted to love this salon, but I never even got to experience their services despite having booked two appointments with them. The first time I booked an appointment I travelled over two hours via transit from Mississauga to the salon because I am having hair loss and moisture hydration issues with my hair. I was told over the phone that if I come in person I can have a consultation with someone to take a look at my hair and recommend Products or services that can help When I got there, apparently the stylist (or whoever I was supposed to have a consultation with) was not in? And despite the fact that the lady that helped me was kind, she said that I would have to book another appointment for when the person is in as she can not help me. I travelled so far and for so long I wasn’t really about to book another appointment Fast forward. A couple years later I finally booked another appointment and literally the exact same thing happened again LOL. (Hysterical laughter). It was like deja-vu. Person for consult wasn’t available despite the fact that I CLEAR AS DAY day, booked an appointment for a consultation over the phone and I specified what my needs were. And the same kind lady was there but again, could not help me and told me to book again. Such a waste of time and energy and for someone who has searched the GTA tirelessly for a natural hair salon that has all the values and ethos that nannis claims to have because I’ve been really struggling in my hair journey, it was incredibly disheartening and discouraging having this happen to me not once, but twice. And it took me months to even be able to write this review as I am somewhat traumatized (for lack of a better word) from the experience of being vulnerable with my hair issues only to have the door shut on me twice.
Very disappointing experience. I was looking for a natural hair salon after the one I frequented for years closed and the owner moved to another province. This place was recommended to me by a family member who has locs. I do not but having called they did say they can see clients with natural hair. I booked my appointment a month in an advance. My family member advised to book with Janet. A week leading to the appointment I called them myself to confirm the appointment to which I was advised they could not see my appointment. I said are you sure? They asked for my number and they found that I was moved time slots. I asked why and why did no one inform me? I was told it was an oversight that I wasn’t informed. I asked if was still with Janet to which I was told she is now off for the week but I was placed with someone else who will do my hair “just fine” - frustrated with that experience alone, I still figured to proceed with it. The day of the appointment I called to let them know I would unfortunately be 10 minutes late. I asked if that was okay, they said it was fine. I confirmed again my appointment and they confirmed it. I got there exactly 10 minutes late, I went inside and nope - could not find my booking. Dumbfounded at this, I said I literally just called 20 minutes ago and on top of that called to confirm a week ago and initially booked one month ago. Was told they recently got a new receptionist so that may have been the issue. More excuses! I was told I was going to be seen as it was just a wash and treatment. There seemed to be no idea who would be doing my hair as there were two people already ahead of me waiting. I sat down to wait and about twenty minutes passed and one of the two ahead of me were called to be seated. I realized I may be waiting here forever given they likely have appointments and they’re viewing me as a walk in. They were also not providing me with any update / avoiding me. I figured that even if they do my hair, based on the events leading to this, I would never come back and I’m someone who likes to have one person / place do my hair. So I left and will not ever return. It’s very unfortunate that I shared this experience with friends and was told “you know how some black businesses are” well no, I only go to black salons and this was an experience I’ve never had in my life. It’s too bad because I am a great client who values large tips towards black stylists as I love supporting them. I will continue my search for a black salon in toronto.
This is the best hair salon that I went to JANET is amazing and her team.is perfect I left happy and I felt great janet makes sure you feel good and happy amazing amazing AMAZING <3
