Hi , I recently got my hair cut at the salon, and it looked fine initially because it was styled with a blow-dry. However, after washing it at home, the result was not what I expected. I went in influenced by social media posts, and since it was styled during the appointment, I didn’t fully notice the cut at the time. My hair is uneven—one side is longer than the other. I specifically requested a cut suited for my naturally curly hair, but it was cut bluntly, which is very difficult to style for curly hair. I’m currently struggling to style my hair, and I will likely need another haircut. Considering I paid $140 for one cut, having to pay again is quite frustrating. I wanted to share my experience honestly.
UPDATE: someone from the salon called me last monday i’m guessing because they saw my review. i asked them to call me back at 3pm as i was busy, which they agreed to. they called me at 3:28pm. i didn’t answer the call as i was occupied and also because they called late… LATE just like what my appointment was. seems intentional especially as there was no effort no follow up after that. clearly they don’t respect some people’s time. ORIGINAL: unfortunately disappointed with my experience. i had an appointment booked for friday at 6pm, which i arrived for sharply. saw that my hairdresser was finishing up a client, he was blow drying her hair. i thought to myself that it wouldn’t take long especially because her hair is a bob cut. guess what… it ended up taking him 30 mins… i was left to wait 30 mins. not only that but no one welcomed me warmly or apologized for the wait. even during my hair wash, the hairdresser was talking to the client next to me (distracted) and i could feel my hair wasn’t being washed properly… very little effort. a coffee was offered to her but not to me… seemed especially rude because i was sitting next to her and also waited so long for my appointment to start. i wanted to give the benefit of the doubt especially because i had driven over 40 mins to this salon. my entire service took a little over 30 mins. which doesn’t make sense because my hair is at least two times longer compared to his previous client for whom he spent 30 mins blow drying her hair. in the moment my hair looked fine because it was styled. however when i washed my hair recently, i noticed how choppy my hair was and how uneven my face framing was. i also think he thinned my hair out without asking me or confirming with me. my hair is super light now compared to before, which is the complete opposite to what i wanted. normally hairdressers trim your hair when wet and then touch it up when it’s dry.. and they check to see if pieces are equal to the other side… but for me he just trimmed it when it was wet and proceeded to do a quick blow out. again i gave the benefit of the doubt because this salon and hairdresser seemed to be skilled. now i have to get another haircut to fix this mess. all in all, i wasted $113 on my time and money being disrespected. would not recommend at all.
Charged me $90 to correct my money piece that was orange/reddish and darker than the rest of my highlights. The salon I used to go to in yorkville would have fixed something for free or for much less. Was more than happy to pay but felt taken advantage of.
Absolutely disappointed with my balayage. The color is completely uneven and nothing like what I asked for. The stylish ignored instructor and took several cx in one time so she can not focus. Now my hair looks patchy, lifeless, damage whit the worst color. I asked her after one wash to fix it but she told she will charge me again. I trusted this salon for professional result, but it was a total failure. I would strongly advise against coming here for balayage.
