The cured pork stew fried was amazing, mixed with chili, green pepper & green onion. Similar to the chicken kidney with noodles. However the beef with pickled raddist was under expectation. Compared to the other two dishes, the beef was plain and overcooked. Service was good and attentive. The restaurant got busy really quick after 6pm. I recommend to make a reservation before coming in.
I called this restaurant to place a takeout order. A male staff member answered and asked me to hold for a moment. I then heard him tell someone in the background that it was a takeout call — and after that, no one came back to the phone. I waited for quite a while, but no one picked up again. My friend was already on the way to the restaurant, and I still hadn’t been able to order, so I called out a few times, but nobody responded. I could just hear the same guy continuing to serve dine-in customers. I figured they might be busy and had just forgotten about me, so I hung up and tried calling again — but after that, the call never went through. I’m not denying that the food here is great — that’s why I ended up paying extra to order through a delivery app later. But please train your staff better. It doesn’t take long to write down a phone number and the customer’s order before getting back to in-person guests.
Amazing place. Was absolutely blown away from how good the food was. The service was impeccable. Come hungry and leave satisfied! 11/10 would definitely recommend and will be visiting soon!
Food 4/5 Service 4/5 Vibe 4/5 New restaurant located near Victoria Park and Mcnioll. They specialize in Hunan湖南 or hubei湖北 food. Summarize: most dishes are spicy and use more fatty meat. But flavor is great, definitely ate more rice than expected They currently have a grand opening special! 12% off!
The chef must be praised. The stir-fried food tastes so delicious! The pot is full of wok hei(锅气),the amount of dishes is large, and the meat is enough. Unlike some stores, they are looking for meat to eat in the chili piles. Hunan bacon is definitely a rice artifact. I ordered 7 dishes, and none of them stepped on thunder. The rice in his family tastes chewy, shiny and fragrant. The service is also good. Although it has just opened and a reservation is made by phone. After coming, the boss found that there was no call from us. Later, he found that he had left the wrong name and soon arranged a table for us. The food is also served quickly. We will come to visit again.
The ambiance was decent and the staff was friendly. As for the food, it was over-seasoned, with too much salt and MSG. There is potential, but improvements are needed in food quality and service efficiency.
The DURIAN PANCAKE/bun/cheese cake was REALLY REALLY REALLY GOOD!! That’s what I came for. The durian cheese cake and the overall price is the reason I rated this place 4 stars, if no durian cheese cake would have been 3 stars as there wouldn’t have been anything stand-out, needing to return. The other dishes we ordered were ok, good enough. The braised short ribs were ok.. lacked flavour, the seasoning wasn’t fresh enough The shredded potatoe had a very different and unexpected flavour and texture… really soft texture The Wontons were just wontons as expected in this style of food. The cold noodles tasted good. We order 5 dishes for a table of 2. Bill was $54 before tip… so pretty cheap
