love it! Tried ricotta fig walnut, dubai chocolate and Asian pear. Ricotta fig walnut is my fav:) dubai chocolate is awesome as well! Can really taste the pistachio. Asian pear is refreshing!
They have unique flavours and the almond pistachio nougat is incredible. I am taking away a star because of possible consistency issues, as on my last visit, the yuzu cheesecake flavored gelato which is normally great, was incredibly overpowered by the yuzu to the point where it tasted soapy in a sense. Given the premium price tag, I'd hope for a perfect product every time.
Small shop with big flavours! Stopped through with my wife to grab some gelato for dessert. Really appreciate the clearly labelled dairy free case, which made it easy for my wife to find the flavours that would work for her. Pretty much every gelato I tried was top notch. I grade gelato shops based on their pistachio, and I would rate theirs 5 star! I went with a large cup, with pistachio, cappuccino and dark chocolate and enjoyed all of them. My wife went with mango, dark chocolate and hazelnut, and again they were all winners, though we both agreed that the hazelnut knocked it out of the park! We also sampled Asian pear and yuzu mojito which were both refreshing. I also tried the Dubai chocolate, which was alright, but really seemed to just be the pistachio with a chocolate drizzle. Small shop with no bathroom or seating, one picnic table on the sidewalk out front.
Delicious & unique flavours that rotate. Great texture. We tried dubai chocolate, pure hazelnut, yuzu cheesecake & black sesame. The waffle cone piece is also a nice touch!
Damn. Who knew I can get really good gelato in the heart of Yonge and Finch! Since opening their doors in the Yonge North York community, Gelato North brings East Meets West influences with traditional Italian gelato techniques meeting the flavours of Korean cuisine! From the traditional flavours of Chocolate and Strawberry Gelato, you should also add Yuzu Cheesecake and Injeolmi to your gelato cone/cup as it's a fun and great way to stay cool and fresh for the summer! This family owned business always aims to bring quality into everything they do from the gelato (vegan options included too) to their homemade desserts such as their delicious tiramisu!
Disappointed and feel cheated The ice cream scoops are way smaller than advertised. They claim one scoop is 80g, but I weighed mine and it was only 74g. Since they charge by weight, this is unfair to customers. I asked them to re-weigh it and proved they were giving less than promised. Not happy with this dishonest practice.
We were craving authentic Italian gelato and decided to drive to this gelato spot. I was really impressed with the quality of the gelato. The flavors are rich. Our personal favorites were the Taro Coconut and the Almond Pistachio Nougat, absolutely delicious! The staff was friendly, however the atmosphere was normal and basic. We expected more from an authentic Italian gelateria. A few downsides were the portion size, which was quite small for the price, and the fact that there weren’t many flavors available. While the limited selection was still great, it would have been nice to have more options to choose from. I would highly recommend buying a pint size of your favorite flavor instead of a cup and it’s great for sharing. We had only realised after buying a couple flavours that the pints were available for only $15. The price for 1 scoop was $6.
