This place is our go to for cold nights! Owners are super nice and polite. Customer service is top notch! Snacks are all super tasty. My wife and I like to order fish cake with soup and other seafoods to match with it. Definitely warms you up!
The food comes out cold, and are definitely made from frozen bags, the same ones you can find next door at hmart. the service comes off pretty rude/uninterested. there isnt rly a nice spot to stand and eat either
I missed eating Korean street food from my visit to Korea last year and needed something to fulfill that craving. Heard of Kim's a La Cart and I knew I had to check it out. Now it's not as good as the ones in Korea, and the size is definitely small, but it's a decent comparison!
TLDR: Kim's A La Cart has been around for forever and I can't recall if I've tried it before today but I already know I'll be returning. They only take cash/debit so be aware before visiting oh and their lines can get really long if you're unlucky but they seem to tell you how long the food will take at the time of ordering so that's helpful too! -[BABY CRABS] $3.50 (4/10) ? Comes with 4 pcs on a stick with your choice of either spicy or teriyaki sauce ? We chose teriyaki sauce as you just never quite know when it comes to Asian spice and I could definitely see the potential this could have had but the crabs served to us were cold and fishy :( I think if they were served fresh, I would have loved them but as it stands, would not order it again -[KIMCHI PANCAKE] $5.00 (10/10) ?️ Pan-fried, savory flour-based pancake with spicy cabbage - apparently it comes with spicy or teriyaki sauce ?️ Ngl, I tasted 0 spice on this pancake but it was still absolutely delicious. The pancake was perfectly crispy and seasoned well too. I would have ordered at least one more if I knew it was going to be that good ? Place takes cash or debit only ? As it's a food cart, there's nowhere to sit so you have to stand to eat your food but it's still quite convenient
I come here for the red bean and custard fish. Absolutely insane, if that’s all they served I wouldn’t even be mad and they would get 5 stars without a second thought. 5 for atmosphere because Kim’s is a symbol and I love their food cart. Thank you for all your work and the delicious food you serve at super prices
I love Kim’s a la cart primarily for the experience. Literally everyone I brought here would be guaranteed to have a good time, standing beside the stance and eat. I especially love eating the fish cake soup when it’s snowy in the winter - it really makes you feel like eating street food in Asia, which is one of the most nostalgic experiences I had in my childhood… Don’t get me wrong - the snack is still delicious and affordable (tho they usually come in small quantities). It is ALWAYS a fun, cute and cozy experience though
After visiting for more than 5 years I think it’s time for a change. Today, I tried their new item the fried baby crabs and also the usual meatballs at Yonge and Church Ave. The baby crabs were fried ahead of time so they tasted cold. Adding the teriyaki sauce which was clumpy was not very good in presentation and taste. The meatballs were good as usual and the teriyaki sauce was once again clumpy.
