My experience at The Break Room was beyond horrible, honestly one of the most frustrating visits I’ve ever had. First of all, the associate Enzo completely ignored us. Instead of helping customers, he was busy playing arcade games like he was there to hang out, not work. We stood around waiting while he laughed, walked past us multiple times, and avoided eye contact. When we finally managed to place a food order, it somehow got completely messed up. Ayleen took our order and still got almost everything wrong, missing items, wrong food, and no explanation. When we pointed it out, there was zero apology, just confusion and attitude, like we were wrong for expecting what we ordered. It didn’t stop there. Ashley was just as unhelpful. Instead of fixing the issue or stepping in, she seemed disinterested and slow, casually chatting while we waited even longer for a correction. No urgency, no accountability, no customer service skills whatsoever. At one point we were bounced between staff members, each one acting like the problem wasn’t their responsibility. No communication, no teamwork, and absolutely no professionalism. The whole place felt disorganized and poorly managed. By the time our food finally arrived, the mood was already ruined. What should’ve been a fun experience turned into constant waiting, repeating ourselves, and being ignored. If you’re expecting basic customer service acknowledging customers, getting orders right, or even pretending to care don’t come here. Management seriously needs to retrain their staff, because this level of service is unacceptable.
Very friendly staff. Learned my name and order within 3 visits and it's a routine stop for me now. I don't agree with a lot of these bad reviews, I love the food and the staff are incredibly nice to myself and others everytime I've been here.
Waited in line and the male cashier ignored us TWICE before another female cashier took our order. It was extremely rude because we were right at the front. Other than that, good food and vibes.

Good food but some of the staff namely one takes an insane amount of time making a single drink even in quiet non busy times. Constantly forgetting orders and messing up basic drinks. If you want to grab a drink on the way to class beware it takes 20 min
Contrary to other negative reviews, I think the food is actually pretty good here. Not to mention, the portion sizes here are fair, and the prices are cheap, even outside of York University. I recommend giving this place a try. The environment is lively and worth a visit for any student attending YorkU.
The food is so bad and expensive! Especially considering it’s in a university where students are already spending so much money, the least they can do is make an affordable menu for students. The portions were so small and expensive it’s ridiculous. The vibe of the place is nice to chill out but something should seriously be done about the prices or portions of food served.
