We ordered two bowls of noodles and a plate of pig intestine. The noodles were soft but sadly there only had one type of noodles. Overall, the food was alright with nothing special in particular. Service was amazing. They were polite and nice. They served the food in a decent amount of time. Atmosphere rating depends on who you are. The place is on the first floor of the building. The place is small with customers needing to go in the building if wanted to use the bathroom. Hostly, I don’t care as there isn’t that much people and no wait was needed to get seated. The washroom was not far from the restaurant in my opinion. Therefore, if there was more noodles often was the restaurant mainly seals noodles, everything else is excellent.
The lotus root soup doesn't really have any meat or lotus root, too much white pepper, making it too spicy to drink, they prefer cash payment but still charge HST. green bean soup is sugar water with few bean skin pieces.
Oct2024: third visit, and fond of the beef dry noodles, extra spicy and crispy pork bun. The special, marinated pork belly on rice with a braised egg is good too. Have tried several of the side dishes and liked all of them: three delicacies in tofu, tofu with preserved egg, kelp salad, wood fungus salad, spicy beef tripe, crispy bun with pork and siu mai. The noodles and sides are a good size serving for single diners. I think a noodle dish plus one side would be filling for most diners. Rice noodles are also offered if you don't want wheat based noodles. They also have lunch specials between 11:30am-3:30pm. Seating is limited and austere, but service and food was excellent. Not many places offer dry noodles and I thought this version was quite good and a decent serving size, will be back.
Always come here for the best beef noodle soup on the east side of Toronto. Staff are attentive and quick with napkins and water. The beef noodle soup has the classic, nostalgic, authentic taste from Asia.
Food was just okay but unfortunately didn’t get the satisfaction of authentic Wuhan hot dry noodle. Overall the noodles and beef were a bit dry and flavour-wise was nothing to write home about. Heavy on the noodles if that’s what you’re into. Really appreciated the customer service though!
I would give this place 3 stars, but since they give 10% cash discount I gave them an extra star. Food is average quality at affordable prices. But the atmosphere is not good, it feels like I'm sitting in a small hallway with no windows, not much decor, and no music. Servers are polite and provide fast service. They speak Mandarin and Cantonese. There is lots of free parking available here.
It is a treasure place for authentic Wuhan food. We were born in Wuhan and had the Hot zdry Noodles for years before leaving the hometown and been aboard. The dry noodles here are the ones matches the flavor of my memories. If you are also coming from Wuhan, being aboard for awhile and missing your hometown taste, this is a place to help on the nostalgia.
