DO NOT GO HERE!!! ZERO STARS. This place and a SCAM and a RIPOFF!! The owner (Nabil) at Railside Auto is beyond disrespectful and rude. The front desk employee Jonathan took his time to look at my car and give a quote. After he gave me the quote I double checked with him to make sure it was correct. I told him I’m bringing cash so I need to know the exact amount. When I came back, the price on the bill was DOUBLE of what I was quoted!! When I showed the owner (Nabil) the original quote he started yelling at me and calling me “crazy” that I would think it would be that much. Excuse me? Am I a mechanic YOUR GUY WROTE IT DOWN! Jonathan then admitted that he “forgot” to mention labour costs. I assumed labour was included in the total if not mentioned separately, like any normal quote would be. The owner made me feel stupid because it was “obvious” there would be labor costs. Shouldn’t you tell your customers that, so they know how much they’re ACTUALLY going to be paying? How can labor costs DOUBLE the original price and yet they keep them hidden? This can’t be legal, ill be looking into it. I would never have agreed to the work if I knew the real price. My dealership would have cost less! On top of that, the same employee told me they would waive the taxes — but when I asked about it, the owner started screaming at me and even yelled at his own employee right in front of me. It was shocking and traumatizing. So I had to pay whatever cash I came in with, plus extra on my credit card in order to get my car back. I’m a single mom of 3 and this sticker shock seriously set me back, I was in tears when I left and the owner continued on with his angry words. If this is how they treat honest paying customers, I can only imagine how they handle their work. My car is still making noises! I walked out feeling completely scammed. I’ll never go back, and I strongly recommend others to AVOID this place unless you want to be OVERCHARGED and YELLED AT!
Bought a used car certified from this shop . After taking the car home and getting it looked at my mechanic some serious safety issues were evident . The shop failed to correct two huge holes in the muffler of the car , put on working wiper blades and ignored leaking front struts . All components that must pass in order to legally safety a vehicle . When comforted the owner of the shop reluctantly gave me $300 for the muffler work . When we found out that the struts also didn’t meet safety standards the shop refused to assist . The mechanic maintains that the struts were dry when he checked - the same way he surprisingly he missed the two huge holes on the muffler bc they were not in his line of sight — despite the loud Noise they made :/ . The law dictates 36 days for a car to remain compliant with the safety certificate . Not a warranty but the standard of safety must remain . I’m going to filing a formal complaint with ONVIC , MTO and I’ll be retaining council if they do not cooperate in rectifying this problem . I can’t imagine the poor quality of repair work their customer unknowingly suffer.
Sells unregulated battery chargers at his shop; mine didn't work and started smoking. I was told no refund after I came back. I do not recommend dealing with such a shady and unfair business.
