August 30, 2025 between 9:30am to 10am, we grabbed coffee and we were the only customers at the time. The 2 female employees didnt even greet us as we enter. As we approached the register, they continued talking and didnt even bother stopping to acknowledge us. We didnt mind but when the female employee in pigtails took our order, we were rushed she kept saying anything else? Again, there are no other customers in the whole store at the time. They even forgot to make one of our drinks, i had to ask them if they are making it. They didnt apologize for it and just placed the coffee in the handoff table. No sorrys or even thank you or anything. Bad customer service. Train them again!
Good old 2nd Cup - it's nice to see how it survived Covid etc... time to modernize, expand, add new selections, bring up some more reasons to go there... I wish them luck and want to see them thrive, but also worried that they might not make it long-term - there's too much competition out there...
Get your coffee but not the cake. Got today an oreo cheesecake. Horrible, could be days old and still selling them. No quality. Garbage. Should stop selling hardened cake that was not sold.
I do not recommend this location, as there are too many new staff. We got overcharged, received the wrong size drink, served a diluted version of tea and suffered delays due to staff not knowing how to operate the till.
First time back in many months. They STILL haven't fixed the front door accessibility. I don't want to touch the door handle (we're still in a pandemic), and I wonder how anyone with a disability is able to enter (the button on the 2nd door works, but not the front door). I told the owner about it months ago, but still isn't fixed. Absurd.
New distancing and sanitation protocols appear to be taken seriously. MAkes a visit feel much more safe. My coffee was served fresh, and my son's hot chocolate served... hot :)
Great neighborhood drop-in. Earning free medium drinks is faster than any other coffee shop. EDIT: with over 4,000 extra homes in the form of a 40 story bldg, 7 other bldgs (all in the mall), a new 9 story currently going up across the street and 2 more 9 stories going up a few blocks south, it will be hard to get a seat ever again. Kinda sad. Lots of retired ppl in the neighborhood who like to come here won't get a seat. Maybe the developers should get rid of the one way drive on the east side and expand the Second Cup.
